Keeping yourself in good shape is an ongoing challenge, especially once you're in your forties. Your diet is the most important part of the Fitness puzzle. As cliched as it may sound, watching out for the Calories going in vs Calories out, walking a minimum of 10000 steps a day, doing regular & progressive resistance training, proper rest & recovery, especially sleep & a high Protein diet are the cornerstones of achieving & maintaining a lean & aesthetic physique.

Gym or Body weight?

When it comes to resistance training, you don't necessarily HAVE to start with a fancy gym or expensive exercise equipment. Body weight training a.k.a Calisthenics is a great way to start your journey towards an aesthetic physique. However, it helps to have access to some weights, as you progress. Even a simple pair of dumbells with adjustable weights can help you keep progressing & helps prevent the boredom that usually sets in when you become a slave to just one particular way of working out. Having a variety of options helps to keep it fun & motivates you to keep going!
